Sayyed Ali Akbar San'atie was one of the best-known Artist of Iran and Kerman in recent century

Sayyed Ali Akbar San'atie was one of the best-known Artist of Iran and Kerman in recent century. Since he was a hardworking person and had been supported by the Sanatie –zadeh family, he was known as one of the greatest sculptors and painters of Iran. He was also considered as one of the most important artists in mosaic art .He had a special approach to the present art of Iran. He helped to develop sculpturing and transmit the Iranian sculpturing to the next generation which was started by Ali Akbar Seddighi.

His life-style, the way by which he entered the field of art and his choice to present his works, makes him different from other artists. He was considered as a popular artist. However, it doesn't mean that he was common because he really tried to teach arts and he had an acceptable technique in painting and sculpture .He was born in Kerman in 1916 and he was sent to orphanage in 1924 .He entered the Industrial School with a bachelor's degree in 1940. In the same year, he returned to Kerman and taught sculpture, painting and carpet design until 1945 when he returned to Tehran.

His first permanent exhibition was held in Sepah Square in1946. His next exhibition held in College Crossroad in 1954 and it was shut down in 2 years and transferred to Rah Ahan Square; this exhibition was shut down in 1973, as well. With the opening of the Kerman San'atie museum in 1977, large parts of his works were transferred to the museum to be put on a public exhibition. His masters were Abul –Hassan Seddighi, Ali- Mohammad Heydarian , Hossein Sheikh ,Ali Rokhsaz ,and Albert Hunmann . Finally, Sayyed Ali-Akbar Sanatie died in 2006, after 60 years of continuous work in art
